World Poker Tournament

The world poker tournament is organized by The World Poker Association (WPA). The WPA -- a non-profit organization - was founded by Jesse Jones. The forthcoming world poker tournament christened the WSOP (World Series Of Poker) is slated at Las Vegas in June 2006. The latest entrant to this is the Swedish Poker Federation which has 4,000 members - the strongest international poker organization in terms of membership. The WPA ensures that the integrity and status of the world poker tournament is elevated, and the common set of rules is implemented globally and the rights of each player and organization participating in the world poker tournament, are protected.

These include the 17 founding members, besides several of the eminent poker champions like Joseph Hachem, Phil Helmuth, Barry Greenstein, Kenna James, Steve Brecher and Kristy Gazes. With the inclusion of the Swedish Poker Federation, Ken Lennaárd was named a founding member of the WPA, as well as the Chair of the International Committee. With the inclusion of the Swedish poker Federation, the WPA has taken a giant leap forward to forge a unified and organized force for the world poker tournament.
